At the Modeling, Engineering, Design and Analysis Laboratory, our mission is to produce pioneering research to advance nuclear technology for both fission and fusion energy systems.
What we do
- Development of numerical methods and algorithms in the area of compressible ad incompressible flows; neutron diffusion or transport; and nonlinear solid mechanics
- Production of high-quality scientific computing software
- Integration of traditional methods with scientific machine learning and model order reduction, when needed and useful
- Uncertainty quantification and employ data assimilation based on the most modern techniques for complex, nonlinear systems
- Design and analysis of a variety of nuclear energy systems, components and experiments
We are also strong supporters of open-source software development and deeply engaged in development best practices for high-quality open-source software development.
